FPGA Verification Engineer job in Hampshire – up to £85k

Hexwired Recruitment is working with a growing technology and engineering business based in Hampshire, who are looking to add an experienced FPGA Verification Engineer to their development team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing verification strategies for complex digital designs, ensuring that implementations meet the required functional and performance standards before release.

You will work closely with FPGA, hardware and software engineers throughout the development lifecycle, contributing to verification activities from initial design through to final validation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain verification environments for complex digital designs.
  • Create and execute verification plans and test strategies.
  • Develop verification components, testbenches and automated tests.
  • Analyse simulation results and investigate functional issues.
  • Work closely with design engineers to identify, diagnose and resolve defects.
  • Contribute to verification methodologies and continuous improvements to development processes.
  • Support verification activities across the full product development lifecycle.
  • Produce clear technical documentation relating to verification activities and results.

Key skills & experience:

  • Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years’ commercial experience in FPGA, ASIC or digital design verification.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Good understanding of RTL design and digital logic principles.
  • Experience developing and maintaining verification environments and testbenches.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a Linux development environment.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Tcl or Bash.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Experience working with complex digital systems and high-performance hardware would be advantageous.

The company is offering a salary of up to £85,000, depending on experience, alongside an excellent benefits package which includes relocation assistance.
