Senior Software Engineer job in London – C++ – Inside IR35 – £650–£1200 per day – April Start

Hexwired Recruitment is working with a leading London-based solutions provider that is expanding its engineering team and is now looking for experienced Senior Software Engineers with a strong background in C++ to support large-scale digital transformation programmes.

This role sits within a high-profile government project expected to run for a minimum of 12 months, focused on work within the national security domain.

Given the sensitive nature of the work, this position requires full-time onsite presence in London, and applicants must already hold active DV clearance.

Key Skills:

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline
• At least 5 years’ commercial experience developing in C++
• Strong understanding of modern C++ standards (C++11 and beyond)
• Experience contributing to digital transformation or large-scale system modernisation projects
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices
• Background working within Defence, Government or National Security environments
• Active DV clearance is mandatory
