Procurement Manager job in West London – £70k
Hexwired Recruitment have partnered with a rapidly growing defence company that specialises in electronics and optronics products. They are now seeking a Procurement Manager to guide a procurement team, utilise data-driven strategies to enhance cost efficiency and increase overall value.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute sourcing strategies for new and existing products/services in line with Life Cycle Management principles.
- Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key suppliers to drive successful programme execution.
- Ensure full compliance with import/export regulations and internal procedures, staying abreast of any future legislative changes.
- Drive ongoing performance improvements in all aspects of the supply chain, including logistics.
- Lead and manage a team, setting clear objectives and expectations for individual team members.
- Oversee procurement activities including supplier selection, pre-qualification, tender evaluation, and contract award, in line with procurement procedures and governance.
- Travel regularly within the UK and internationally, with flexibility for short-notice requests.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior purchasing/commercial role, with a track record of implementing large and complex product/service contracts.
- Strong understanding of MRP, kanban, contract law, risk management, negotiation, and working in an organisation undergoing change.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present effectively at Director level.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to drive innovative change.
