Founding Engineer job in London – £90K – £110K
Hexwired has partnered with a leading company in the SaaS sector. They are looking for a number of Founding Engineers who will own backend, frontend, infrastructure, and deployment of the products AI agents to have the full-stack ownership. This will include shipping features from concept through to production.
The main responsibilities for the Founding Engineer in London are to make architectural decisions that shape the product.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in computer science or another related field from a Russell group university
- 2+ years experience working as a software or founding engineer
- Experience working with start-up companies (ideally within the Saas sector)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Core stack for this role:
- Python – Designing and developing scalable backend systems, automation workflows, and data-processing solutions.
- FastAPI – Architecting asynchronous APIs and event-driven microservices.
- TypeScript / JavaScript – Delivering robust, maintainable frontend and full-stack applications.
- Next.js / React – Building high-quality production applications with a focus on performance and user experience.
- PostgreSQL / Redis – Implementing efficient data models, optimised queries, caching strategies, and asynchronous processing patterns.
- GCP / AWS – Managing cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD deployments, monitoring, and operational reliability.
