Senior Hardware Engineer job in London – £55k – £65k
Hexwired Recruitment is looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join a dynamic team working on a variety of cutting-edge, high-tech projects. Their designs incorporate some of the industry’s most advanced high-pin-count BGA components, high-bandwidth DDR memory, multi-gigabit serial interfaces, and intricate PCBs with up to 18 layers.
These products are engineered for professional applications, with a strong emphasis on reliability and durability.
Key skills required for this Senior Hardware Engineer Job:
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated passion for electronics and engineering.
  • 4–5 years of industry experience contributing to electronics products that have shipped.
  • Extensive schematic design experience with tools like OrCAD.
  • Proficient in PCB layout for circuit boards with 6+ layers, ideally involving BGA devices or similar complexity.
  • Experience designing for processors or FPGAs.
  • Skilled in assembling, testing, and modifying electronic components down to 0402, with the ability to rework large pin-count devices like MCUs.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and solve unfamiliar problems.
  • Capable of proposing design solutions and evaluating the merits of different approaches.
  • Electronics Engineering degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in line management, mentoring, or supporting team members.
  • Familiarity with EMC measurement, design mitigation, and debugging techniques.
  • Track record of taking products from concept through PCB design to volume manufacturing, with expertise in design for manufacture and design for test.
