April 2022: National Minimum Wage Rates to Increase

Each year, April brings changes to the National Minimum Wage Rate. On 1st April 2022 the national minimum wage (NMW) and national minimum living rates (NLW) will increase. Minimum wage rates reflect the hourly rate that workers should be paid by their employers based on their age or apprenticeship status. The new minimum wage rates will also apply to all eligible workers in Northern Ireland.

It is also important to note that there has been an increase in National Insurance Contributions (NICs).
