Software Engineering Manager – London – £100k- £120k
Hexwired Recruitment has partnered with a company who measure and manage supply chains, encompassing a broad perspective from the highest level down to intricate product and ingredient details. This approach aims to enhance the ability to effectively manage for a sustainable future and they are now seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join their expanding team.
The organisation ensures the capture and analysis of the complete lifecycle within the supply chain. This valuable information is then shared across entire value chains, enabling all participants, including consumers, to gain a deeper understanding of the materials and products they utilise and their associated environmental impact.
As a Software Engineering Manager, your primary role will involve conducting regular individual meetings with software engineers to ensure their motivation, satisfaction, and engagement within the team. You will also play a vital role in recruiting and nurturing talented individuals, fostering their growth and development.
Collaboration will be key, as you work closely with product, technical, and quality squads to drive positive change and cultivate a supportive, high-performing team culture. Additionally, you will collaborate with principal engineers and architects to ensure that your squads consistently adhere to the highest standards of technical design and operational practices.
Key skills required for this Software Engineering Manager role:
- Demonstrated track record in effectively managing and leading teams comprised of highly skilled software engineers, leveraging practical and theoretical knowledge of contemporary software development
- Profound understanding of one or more pivotal technologies utilised within the company’s technology stack, such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Docker, and AWS
- Extensive experience in constructing and designing scalable and high-performing systems, making notable contributions towards the engineering objectives of the organisation
- Proficiency in effective communication and adeptness in collaborating with multiple delivery teams, particularly in navigating ambiguous situations
- Solid Experience in a similar Software Engineering Manager role, with this role being weighted towards hands off
