If you are an owner of a Blackberry Playbook, you will probably want to use this great new tool!
This new great tool is Dingleberry and let you jailbreak your device and pass through this limited OS version installed on playbooks. In another tutorial, we are showing you how to install Android Market on your tablet, so you will be able to install and browse through the variety of apps found on the Google Android Market.
This tutorial is using software developed for Windows PC, and you will need to keep in mind that this jailbreak is still in beta, so there are some features that will be available soon, but it is a really great way to let you exploit the full potential of you Playbook. Don’t forget that after you got it jailbreak, you will have to pay attention on updates you will make, because Blackberry will probably release an update soon to patch that exploit, so if you want to keep the jailbreak, don’t update until the next jailbreak is available; like iPods and iPhones. For this tutorial, you will need your computer, your playbook, your USB cable and follow all next steps carefully:
- Prepare your tablet: Go to Storage and Settings > Enable File Sharing and Enable Wi-Fi Sharing and don’t forget to leave password blank. Once it is done, go to Security > Enable Developer Mode and keep the password.
- Download Dingleberry Jailbreak Once it is done, unzip the folder and run DingleBerry executable file. The program will start and will show developers credit, click continue at the bottom.
- Connect you tablet to your computer and enter required information when prompted.
- Click Jailbreak button, the process should take around 5 minutes to complete.
And that’s about it, if you followed all step correctly, you have now a jailbroken and rooted Blackberry Playbook.
